Seven Tides
Adonal Foyle + Foyle’s Forum
Turning a 13-year NBA career into a connected brand ecosystem spanning identity, digital, content, media, and commercial partnerships.
An audience is not automatically a business.
The Challenge
Adonal Foyle had spent 13 years in the NBA, but basketball was only one part of his story. He was also an educator, advocate, entrepreneur, philanthropist, coach, media personality, and community leader with multiple organizations, businesses, and initiatives built around different parts of his life. Individually, each had a purpose. Collectively, they needed a clearer story connecting them back to Adonal.
The Insight
Adonal's value could not be reduced to 'former NBA player.' His differentiation came from the combination of his experiences, from growing up in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the NBA, education, advocacy, community work, entrepreneurship, and mentoring. The opportunity was to define one personal-brand narrative that explained who Adonal is, what he believes, and why his different pursuits belong together.
The Strategy
I developed a personal-brand foundation for Adonal built around his brand narrative and pillars. That foundation became the filter for how we presented him publicly, what stories we told, which opportunities fit, and how the organizations and projects underneath him related to one another. Rather than treating each venture as a separate brand, we built a connected ecosystem with Adonal at the center.
My Role
I worked directly with Adonal across personal brand strategy and positioning, brand narrative and pillars, brand architecture, visual identity, website strategy and development, photography and content, editorial strategy, social media, show development, production, sponsorship strategy, partnership development, commercial packaging, and experiences.
What We Built
The strategy was translated into a broader brand and digital ecosystem. We created four websites, AdonalFoyle.com, TooTallFoyle.com, DBCGI.com, and FoylesForum.com, and identities for Athletics & Academics, Foyle Performance Coaching, Foyle's Forum, Jumbi Productions, and Time Out Real Estate. I also created a new photography library so Adonal's current story was not dependent on old NBA imagery and could show up consistently across websites, social media, presentations, partnerships, and content.
Foyle's Forum became one of the primary expressions of the larger brand. I helped build its positioning, identity, social presence, editorial direction, repeatable 42-minute show format, production model, sponsorship structure, and commercial strategy. Programming drew from the full range of Adonal's relationships and interests, basketball, leadership, education, culture, community, entrepreneurship, and life beyond sports, while experiences such as Warrior for a Day extended the platform beyond the studio.
The Result
The work transformed a collection of individual projects into a more coherent Adonal Foyle brand ecosystem, with a shared narrative, visual language, digital infrastructure, and commercial framework connecting his personal brand to the organizations and platforms around him. Foyle's Forum reached 167% of its annual sponsorship target within the first six months. More importantly, the work created a foundation that allowed Adonal's content, experiences, community work, and business opportunities to reinforce one another rather than compete for attention.
